field report from the walk of shame beat. done it in three cities now and i stand by the thesis, but nobody warns you about the MORNING INVENTORY. you wake up doing a full systems check like a pilot with a hangover: one shoe (where's the other? emigrated, like the socks). lipstick on your collarbone in a shade you don't own. a bruise on your hip shaped like nothing in nature. the smell — and i say this with love for myself — the smell of last night's decisions, dried into your hair, which is doing something structural that defies both gravity and god. and yet. you find the coffee. you always find the coffee, down some side street you'd never have seen from a tour bus, and for one perfect minute you're the main character. then you find the other shoe in your bag and the mystery deepens. 10/10. would disgrace myself again.
